FLAMME ET FUMEE.

This is a cigar shop in Nice South of France. Great smoking room together with a fantastic humidor . The staff exceptionally friendly and helpful . There is a coffee bar in the front of the shop with a open terrace where you can enjoy a cigar.

The cigars are all fantastic quality and are very well maintained . There is a wide range of cuban cigars as well as the cigars from Dominican Republic and Honduras .The cigar lounge at the back of the shop is very well furnished and is very comfortable a must visit for a cigar smoker visiting the south of France.

Habana Cafe ,Montparnasse Paris

 

This is a great cigar bar in the area of Montparnasse In Paris.

The cigar smoking area is very comfortable and cozy. Very relaxed atmosphere.

These are the issues I have with the Habana Cafe.

No waitress service in the smoking area. You get your own drinks and take back your glasses and plates , clean your own ashtray. There is absolutely NO service in the cigar lounge.

However if you buy drinks or food there is a service charge on your bill.

Why is there a service charge if there is no service  in the  cigar room?

The other issue is with the patrons, they do not like ENGLISH OR ANY OTHER LANGUAGE spoke there. The locals as they call themselves stated they do not like outsiders “in there bar”

So if you are not french you are not welcome there by the locals.

As to the cigars sold there , they buy them from the tobacconist accross the street  where he has been known to sell a few fakes once in a while.

Cigar prices in France are goverment controlled however in the Habana Cafe the prices are 25% higher than any store in France.

I did notice a number of cigar smokers wishing to buy cigars but refused to as the way they where sold, the waitress yes the waitress took out one cigar and handed it to the customer.  When he asked if he could check it she replied “we do not allow the customers to touch the cigars”. So if the cigar was not to your liking that is unfortunate for you.  When he said he was not happy she returned it and told him to go else where. Perhaps because he was english speaking.

So if in Paris and you are looking for a good cigar bar this is not the one to go to. I will be reviewing a number of cigar bars in the Paris region over the next few months and will report on  what I find.

cigarro Hong Kong

This is a great cigar bar in Hong Kong. On the 3rd floor . Serves great food and drinks. Is members  only how ever they are very accommodating towards out of towners.

Cigar range is fair but not the best but they have no issue with you bringing your own cigars. Great atmophere and well ventilated. Large TV with many english and local channels.
